How to stop Cinemeta from overriding titles, overviews and episodes.

Important

Stremio and Nuvio may prioritize Cinemeta metadata. If Cinemeta remains installed or protected, it can show titles, overviews or episodes in English even when this addon is configured in another language.

Why it happens

Many addons use the same IMDb identifier. When several addons answer for the same content, Stremio may keep metadata from the highest-priority addon. Cinemeta is often installed by default and can override other addons.

Integrated Sidekick · Streaming Catalogs Plus

You can connect your Stremio account and remove Cinemeta, selected addons, or all addons. This tool uses the official Stremio API from this server and does not store your credentials.

Warning before deleting

If you use “Delete ALL addons”, every addon in your Stremio account will be removed. Download a JSON backup first. You will need to reinstall anything you want to keep.

Use Stremio Auth Key (alternative access)
Secondary option. Use it only when email and password cannot sign in. Recommended for Google/Facebook/Apple accounts: open web.stremio.com, open the console and copy JSON.parse(localStorage.getItem("profile")).auth.key
Sidekick ready. If an error appears, test /sidekick_api.php?action=ping.

What to do in Stremio · Manual steps if you do not want to connect the account

  1. Open Stremio.
  2. Go to Add-ons.
  3. Find Cinemeta.
  4. Uninstall Cinemeta if Stremio allows it.
  5. Close Stremio completely and open it again.
  6. Install or reinstall Streaming Catalogs Plus from your manifest URL.

What to do in Nuvio

  1. Remove Cinemeta or conflicting addons from the integrated Sidekick.
  2. Keep Streaming Catalogs Plus above other metadata addons.
  3. Save changes and restart Nuvio or refresh the source.

Note

Torrentio, Peerflix and other stream addons can remain installed. The main conflict is Cinemeta as a metadata provider.
